Our 2011 Gewurztaminer is harvested exclusively from two small "organically certified" vineyards in Mendocino County.

Both are located in cool growing regions - one in Ukiah and another 18 miles northwest in Potter Valley.  The Potter Valley site is mostly valley floor and benchland and gives our wine great acidity, while the Ukiah site is valley floor and warms up a tad more during the day giving the 2011 a little more body.  Overall, 2011 was another cool growing year and harvest occurred on September 30.  As a result the 2011 Gewurz has great acidity.  There are aromas of pear, apple, grapefruit, a little wet stone minerality and pineapple.  The wine fools you with a slightly sweet nose.  Flavors of pear, apple, pineapple and lychee fill the glass.  There is good balance and nice acidity.

This is the perfect holiday wine - start any holiday party with it or pair it with traditional holiday meals.  It appeals to both the wine novice and wine lover.

Keep a bottle or two chilled and you will be ready for any occasion.
